About Tara Westover
Tara Westover is an American author and historian. Born in Idaho to survivalist parents, she did not attend school and had little contact with the outside world. She taught herself enough mathematics to be admitted to Brigham Young University. After earning her bachelor's degree, she was awarded a Gates Cambridge Scholarship and earned an MPhil from Trinity College, Cambridge, followed by a PhD in intellectual history and political thought from Cambridge. Her memoir Educated was a #1 New York Times bestseller and was chosen by Bill Gates and Barack Obama as one of their top books of the year.
